Driver, Passenger Killed in Lemoore Truck Accident on Highway 41 near 22nd Avenue
Lemoore, California (January 20, 2020) – Two people were killed in a traffic accident involving a big rig in Lemoore Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash took place at around 2:20 p.m. on Highway 41, just south of 22nd Avenue.
Authorities said a BMW SUV was traveling southbound on Highway 41 when for an unknown reason, it went on the side of the road and over-corrected. The BMW then veered into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a passing big rig.
The force of the impact caused the BMW to catch fire and the truck to end up partially submerged in a nearby canal.
The driver and passenger in the BMW were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released pending notification of family.
The driver of the big rig was uninjured.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
