One Person Killed in Santa Ana Train Crash at East Hunter and South Grand Avenues
Santa Ana, California (January 7, 2020) – According to a local news source, one person was killed Monday afternoon in a traffic accident involving a train and a vehicle in the area of East Hunter and South Grand avenues in Santa Ana.
The tragic train accident took place at around 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 6 at the intersection of East Hunter Avenue and South Grand Avenue.
According to the report, a Metrolink OC Line 689 train was en route to downtown LA’s Union Station when for unknown reasons, it struck a vehicle that was on the tracks at the Santa Ana intersection.
One person in the vehicle died in the crash. A dog that was in the car suffered some bruising and had blood on one leg.
The name of the deceased victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The accident remains under investigation.
