Pilot Dies in Santa Clarita Plane Crash near 14 Freeway
Santa Clarita, California (January 5, 2020) - A plane went down and crashed, killing one person on Saturday morning in Santa Clarita, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The incident happened on the Newhall Avenue off-ramp from the 14 Freeway at around 10:10 a.m. January 4.
Deputies said a small plane crashed near the freeway for unknown reasons. The plane caught fire after the crash.
The plane was a home-built TM-1 Thunder Mustang.
One person was onboard the plane at the time and was killed in the crash. The victim's identity was not immediately available.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
