Motorcyclist Killed in Citrus Heights Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 80 near at Antelope Weigh Scales
Citrus Heights, California (January 19, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday morning in a traffic accident in Citrus Heights, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash happened at around 2:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18 Crash on Interstate 80 near Antelope weigh scales.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 38-year-old Los Angeles man was riding his motorcycle on the interstate when he rear-ended a Ford Fusion that was traveling in front of him. The impact caused the rider and the bike to slide on the roadway and was hit by a big rig.
The driver of the sedan, a 58-year-old Citrus Heights woman and the big rig, a 64-year-old Granite Bay man, stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
It is undetermined whether drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
