Authorities Investigating Fatal Valencia Rollover Crash at Newhall Ranch and Rye Canyon Roads

Valencia, California (January 10, 2020) – A traffic accident that happened in the Valencia neighborhood on Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of at least one victim.

According to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the rollover collision took place at about 3:30 p.m. on January 9 in the area of Newhall Ranch and Rye Canyon roads.

The circumstances that lead to the collision of the two vehicles near the intersection were not immediately disclosed.

One of the vehicles involved plunged down an embankment about 20 feet upon the impact.

The vehicle reportedly rolled over multiple times and acquired heavy damage following the collision.

A male driver died in the crash.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials did not mention if there were other victims hurt following the accident.

Meanwhile, two westbound lanes of the Newhall Ranch Road were closed down as police conducted the investigation.

The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.
