Woman Killed, 5 Pleasant Grove High Students Injured in Sacramento County Car Accident on Eagles Nest Road near Jackson Highway
Sacramento County, California (January 22, 2020) – A woman was killed and five other people were hospitalized Wednesday morning after a head-on crash in Sacramento County, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Eagles Nest Road near Kiefer Boulevard and north of Jackson Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving her vehicle northbound on Eagles Nest Road when for an unknown reason, she allowed the vehicle to drift into the southbound lane and collided head-on with another car carrying five Pleasant Grove High School students.
Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The CHP said one of the students sustained internal injuries, two sustained broken bones and the other two suffered minor injuries. One student was transported to Kaiser Hospital while the other four were taken to UC Davis.
Further details about the crash were not immediately given.
The accident remains under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
