Fatal Diana Schalk Redding Head-On Car Accident on SR 299 near Grizzly Gulch Road
Redding, California (February 3, 2020) – The female victim who was killed in a suspected DUI car accident near Whiskeytown inRedding last week on Wednesday has been identified as 27-year-old Diana Elizabeth Schalk of Pembroke, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The traffic collision involving a 1999 Toyota pickup truck and a 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck happened on January 29, along State Route 299 near Grizzly Gulch Road, Shasta County.
The circumstances that lead to the collision of the two vehicles head-on along the highway were not disclosed at the time of the report.
Schalk, who was driving the Chevrolet S-10 pickup, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She was later pronounced deceased while undergoing medication.
The Toyota pickup truck motorist, who was identified as 42-year-old Hawk Blaze Bergstrom of Redding, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Shasta Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Bergstrom was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
