Troy Woods ID’d as Man Killed in Midway District Pedestrian Accident on Sports Arena Boulevard
Sab Diego, California (February 13, 2020) - The man who died after being struck by a vehicle last week Wednesday in the Midway District has been identified as Troy Alan Woods, 57.
The accident took place at about 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, in the parking lot of The Home Depot off Sports Arena Boulevard and Kemper Street.
Authorities said Woods was hit by a Toyota Prius after he walked in front of it.
Police along with paramedics responded to the scene and found Woods unresponsive. He was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest with life-threatening internal injuries. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital at about 4:30 p.m. February 7.
The driver of the Prius, an 80-year-old man, stopped at the scene.
Alcohol, drugs and speed were not considered a factor in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
