Silun Xie ID’d as One of 2 Persons Injured in El Dorado County Car Crash on Highway 50 near Pollock Pines
El Dorado County, California (February 8, 2020) - The motorist who was severely injured after a two-vehicle crash in El Dorado County on Thursday evening has been identified as Silun Xie of Riverbank, according to authorities.
The crash occurred on February 6, on Highway 50 near Pollock Pines west of Fresh Pond.
At about 6:20 p.m., the police responded to a crash involving a 2014 Ford Escape and a 2013 Toyota Sienna. Jean Macke, 89, from Fair Oaks was driving the Ford westbound on Highway 50, while Silun Xie from Riverbank was approaching in the eastbound lanes in the Toyota.
Macke drifted into oncoming traffic as she was rounding a curve and collided head-on with the Toyota. She was traveling at a speed of 65 mph.
Macke was taken to Marshall Hospital, where she later died.
Xie and their passenger sustained severe injuries. They were taken to a local hospital.
An investigation is ongoing.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
