Person Killed in Manteca Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 near Lathrop Road Off-Ramp
Manteca, California (February 14, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday evening in Manteca, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Highway 99 near the Lathrop Road exit.
The CHP said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on the highway.
The pedestrian died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Police closed three lanes of Highway 99 following the accident. Shortly before 8:00 p.m. the lanes were reopened to traffic.
Further details regarding the crash were not immediately disclosed.
The accident remains under investigation.
