Man In Critical Condition after Sacramento Pedestrian Accident at Valley Hi Drive and Mack Road
Sacramento, California (February 26, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and critically injured by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon at an intersection in South Sacramento, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, at the intersection of Valley Hi Drive and Mack Road.
Police said an unidentified man was walking across the intersection when, for unknown reasons, he was struck by a vehicle.
The man suffered major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition. His name has not been disclosed.
The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
Mack Road was closed for several hours as the authorities investigated the accident. Just before 10:00 p.m., the road was reopened.
The accident remains under investigation.
