40-year-old Juan C. Hernandez of Vacaville was the driver of a tractor-trailer traveling east on SR 88 as a Honda driven by George Schultz, 81, was heading west. As Hernandez went through a curve, his big rig drifted into the westbound lane and crashed with the Honda.
Schultz had a passenger in his vehicle, identified as Patricia Schultz. The two were flown to Renown Hospital in Reno for treatment of serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
CHP said drugs or alcohol were not suspected to have played a role in the collision.
The crash is under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
