Patricia O’Donnell ID’d as Woman Killed in Playa Del Rey Skateboarding Accident at Pershing Drive and Campdell Street
Los Angeles, California (February 13, 2020) – The skateboarder who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Thursday morning in Playa Del Rey has identified as Patricia Ann O’Donnell, 48.
Authorities responded to the intersection of Pershing Drive and Manchester Avenue after a report of a traffic accident that happened at around 1:15 a.m.
According to the authorities, O’Donnel was riding around in the parking lot area when she went into the street and was hit by a dark-colored sedan that was heading northbound on Pershing Drive.
O’Donnel was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the sedan did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The suspect, identified as Patrick Finkelstein, 45, of Santa Monica, was later arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence.
Finkelstein is being held on $100,000.
The accident remains under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
