Melissa Brasington and Carolyn Leak Injured in Lake Elsinore Vehicle Crash on Interstate 15 near Railroad Canyon Road
The Riverside County Fire Department said a 2017 Subaru Forester driven by a 45-year-old Melissa Brasington was on the right shoulder when she approached a 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK driven by Carolyn Leak, on the slow lane.
Leak’s vehicle spun out and then overturned in the middle of the freeway, and she was ejected out of the car’s open sunroof because she was not wearing a safety restraint.
Leak, who was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with life-threatening injuries and Brasington, was also seriously hurt but was stable when transported to the same facility.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
