Man Hit and Injured by Car at East 8th Street and K Avenue in National City

Man Injured in National City Pedestrian Accident at East 8th Street and K Avenue

National City, California (February 23, 2020) – An 85-year-old man is in critical condition following a pedestrian accident on Sunday afternoon in National City, San Diego.

The accident happened at the intersection of East 8th Street and K Avenue at about 1:45 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol said the man was walking inside a crosswalk when he was hit by a Jeep driven by a 71-year-old woman.

The National City Fire Department personnel said the man was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to UCSD Health in critical condition.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

The authorities said alcohol and drugs were not factors in the accident.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Wrongful death and personal injury attorney Arin Khodaverdian, President and Managing Partner of Alpine Law Group, urges accident victims and their families to immediately seek legal assistance. “Those who are affected by the tragedy have rights, but they must act quickly in order to preserve those rights to the full extent of the law. Often, swift action by an experienced attorney is imperative in order to preserve evidence, interview witnesses and immediately begin pursuing any and all responsible parties.”

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. While this result is atypical and does not predict future outcomes, justice, in this case, helps bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the family.”

Mr. Khodaverdian is personally available for free consultations 24/7 by calling 800-984-4123.

What to Do At the Accident Scene

  4. If the accident is minor, it is advisable to move the vehicles to the shoulder and turn on your vehicle's hazard lights to ensure the safety of other motorists.
  5. Gather information about the other drivers involved in the accident. Also, talk to witnesses and get their information.
  6. If possible, take photos of the damage to your car and the surrounding area.
  7. Do not admit fault or discuss the accident with anyone. Do not sign any papers unless requested by the police.
