Elderly Man Killed in Sanger Pedestrian Crash on 8th Street and Academy Avenue; Vivian Lugo Arrested
Sanger, California (February 23, 2020) – An elderly man died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night in Sanger, according to authorities.
The deadly accident took place at around 9:30 p.m. Friday, February 21 on 8th Street and Academy Avenue.
Police said a 71-year-old man was hit by a vehicle while he was attempting to walk across the street.
The man was transported to the Community Regional Healthcare Center, where he was later declared dead.
The driver involved, Vivian Lugo, 44, was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
The accident remains under investigation.
