11-Year-Old Boy Killed in Antioch Pedestrian Accident on Lone Tree Way
Antioch, California (February 27, 2020) – A 11-year-old boy died after being hit by a vehicle Thursday evening while crossing a street in Antioch, police said.
The deadly pedestrian accident was reported at about 6:49 p.m. Thursday, February 27 in the 4700 block of Lone Tree Way.
Authorities said the boy was struck by a vehicle while he was walking across Lone Tree Way in the middle of the block with his brother.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the boy in the roadway. He was declared deceased at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The driver involved remained on the scene and cooperated with police. Authorities said the driver suffered minor injuries possibly related to the airbag deployment and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Eastbound Lone Tree Way was shut down following the crash.
Antioch police are investigating the accident.
