Jonathan Villalpando Injured in Norwalk Crash on San Gabriel River (605) Freeway near Rosecrans Avenue
Norwalk, California (February 6, 2020) – A Fontana man was injured in a deadly multi-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning in Norwalk, according to the authorities.
The deadly crash happened on San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, just south of Rosecrans Avenue at around 3:45 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla was heading south on the San Gabriel River Freeway when it swerved and slammed into the concrete center divider, coming to a rest in lanes of traffic. The Toyota was initially struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck and then by a Honda Accord.
The impact caused the Toyota to overturn and it was struck by a Chrysler PT Cruiser.
The driver of the Toyota, Alyssa Alexus Contreras, 24, of La Puente, died in the crash.
Jonathan J. Villalpando, 28, of Fontana was driving the pickup truck and was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Honda, Jose O. Estrada, 42, of Pico Rivera, was hospitalized with major injuries.
No further details were released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
