Jean Macke Killed in El Dorado County Car Accident on Highway 50 near Pollock Pines
El Dorado County, California (February 8, 2020) - Authorities are investigating a car accident in El Dorado County that left a woman with fatal injuries and two others with significant injuries on Thursday evening.
The crash occurred on Highway 50 near Pollock Pines, west of Fresh Pond, on February 6.
At about 6:20 p.m., Jean Macke, 89, from Fair Oaks, was driving a 2014 Ford Escape on westbound Highway 50. At the same time, a 2013 Toyota Sienna was driving from the eastbound lanes of the highway.
Macke was traveling at a speed of 65 mph when she swerved off her lane at a curve into the path of the oncoming Toyota and the two collided head-on.
Following the accident, Macke was transported to Marshall Hospital, where she died.
The Toyota driver and their passenger were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
An investigation is underway.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
