22-Year-Old Esteban Ontiveros Jr Killed in San Jose Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101
San Jose, California (February 4, 2020) - A deadly crash involving multiple vehicles left a 22-year-old Morgan Hill man dead on Sunday morning in San Jose, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at around 12:42 a.m. February 2.
According to the CHP, Esteban Ontiveros Jr was driving a 2010 Hyundai Accent at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the rear of a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander. The Hyundai spun following the impact and was then struck by a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia big rig.
Ontiveros Jr was ejected from the Hyundai as it rolled and caught fire. He was then struck by a 2012 Mazda 3.
Authorities said Ontiveros Jr died of his injuries at the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
