David Morgan ID’d as Man Killed in San Luis Obispo Pedestrian Accident at Los Osos Valley Road and Foothill Boulevard
San Luis Obispo, California (February 28, 2020) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night in San Luis Obispo has been identified as David Chevalier Morgan, 59, of San Luis Obispo.
The accident happened at about 7:59 p.m. Thursday, February 27 in the area of Los Osos Valley Road and Foothill Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Morgan was walking in the area when he allegedly stepped in front of a passing vehicle.
Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Alcohol, drugs, or apparent distraction were not considered a factor on the part of the driver.
Authorities said Morgan might have been attempting to commit suicide.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
