David Morgan ID’d as Man Killed in San Luis Obispo Pedestrian Accident at Los Osos Valley Road and Foothill Boulevard

San Luis Obispo, California (February 28, 2020) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night in San Luis Obispo has been identified as David Chevalier Morgan, 59, of San Luis Obispo.

The accident happened at about 7:59 p.m. Thursday, February 27 in the area of Los Osos Valley Road and Foothill Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Morgan was walking in the area when he allegedly stepped in front of a passing vehicle.

Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Alcohol, drugs, or apparent distraction were not considered a factor on the part of the driver.

Authorities said Morgan might have been attempting to commit suicide.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

A person on foot is no match for a vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death. “Due to the incredibly serious nature of these types of injuries, pedestrian accident cases often require special care in order to help ensure victims receive the full compensation they need for extensive medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation therapy, in-home care, lost past and future earnings, and numerous other economic and non-economic damages”, Said Arin Khodaverdian, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney.

Arin noted that pedestrians, in most instances, have the right-of-way when crossing a street or an intersection. According to Arin, to properly investigate a pedestrian crash and prove negligence, enough resources are required. “A skilled attorney has the resources and will help investigate the accident to determine the party at fault,” Arin said
