Brian Conner ID’d as Victim Killed in Vista Pedestrian Accident on Vista Village Drive and Wave Drive
Vista, California (February 10, 2020) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the pedestrian who was killed in an alleged hit-and-run accident earlier this month in Vista as Brian Wayne Conner, 43.
The deadly accident happened at around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, February 2 in the 401 block of Vista Village Drive near Wave Drive.
Authorities said Conner was heading westbound in his wheelchair on Wave Drive when he tried to cross Vista Village Drive and was hit by a northbound vehicle.
Conner, who lived a transient lifestyle in Vista, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the involved vehicle did stop to render aid and continued traveling northbound on Vista Village Drive.
The accident remains under investigation.
A person on foot is no match for a vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death. “Due to the incredibly serious nature of these types of injuries, pedestrian accident cases often require special care in order to help ensure victims receive the full compensation they need for extensive medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation therapy, in-home care, lost past and future earnings, and numerous other economic and non-economic damages”, Said Arin Khodaverdian, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney.
Arin noted that pedestrians, in most instances, have the right-of-way when crossing a street or an intersection. According to Arin, to properly investigate a pedestrian crash and prove negligence, enough resources are required. “A skilled attorney has the resources and will help investigate the accident to determine the party at fault,” Arin said
