5 Injured, 2 Children Airlifted, after San Luis Obispo Cart Crash at Heritage Ranch Boat Ramp; Breana Roinestad Arrested
San Luis Obispo, California (February 16, 2020) – Five people were injured in a suspected DUI accident involving a golf cart and a truck on Saturday in San Luis Obispo, according to authorities.
On February 15, Breana Roinestad, 33, from Santa Maria, was operating a Yamaha golf cart eastbound on Heritage Boat Launch Road. At the same time, a 29-year-old man from Paso Robles was driving a 2018 Chevy Silverado towards the golf cart, according to authorities.
The 29-year-old man made unsafe turning movement and swerved onto Heritage Boat Launch Road and eventually struck the left side of the golf cart, according to the CHP.
An adult female and five unrestrained minors were on board the golf cart at the time of the collision. Due to the impact, the children were ejected onto the roadway surface.
Two of the juveniles were airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
Roinestad was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a police investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
