2 Adults, 3 Children Injured in Sylmar Car Accident on 210 Freeway at 5 Freeway
Sylmar, California (February 14, 2020) – Five people were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Sylmar, according to a local news source.
The accident happened just after 2:00 p.m. on the transition road from the eastbound side of the 210 Freeway to the northbound 5 Freeway.
Authorities said two SUVs were involved in the crash. A 3-year-old boy was ejected from his car seat upon the impact.
The toddler sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The other four people, a 6-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, a 27-year-old woman, and a 42-year-old woman, were all taken to the hospital with moderate to severe injuries.
Authorities closed all eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway at Yarnell Street as the investigation and cleanup took place.
No other details about the crash were immediately given.
An investigation int the accident is underway.
