Authorities Investigating Santa Barbara Car Accident at Las Positas and Calle Real
Santa Barbara, California (February 10, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the cause of a traffic collision that took place in the area of Santa Barbara at about 9:30 a.m. on February 9.
According to a local news source, the car crash was reported on Sunday morning at the intersection of Las Positas and Calle Real.
The initial report showed that an SUV was found crushed on the passenger side and with airbags deployed. Due to the impact, a pickup truck was also located at the site flipped on its side.
It was affirmed that one of the involved motorists went through a yellow light prior to the occurrence of the accident.
Two children, ages 11 and 12, were hospitalized at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara for treatment of injuries sustained in the wreck.
There were no other serious injuries reported after the mishap.
The crash resulted in the closure of a few lanes for an unknown time.
Officials requested tow trucks to remove the involved automobiles away from the crash site.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
