2 Hospitalized after Mendocino County Vehicle Crash on Highway 101
A northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck was reportedly going at approximately 55 to 60 mph on the highway when the driver veered to the left and crossed solid double lines and partially entered into the southbound traffic lane.
The Ford F-150 then collided head-on with a Volkswagen Jetta, which was on the southbound lane. The impact of the crash caused the Volkswagen to lose control and entered the northbound lane, and it was hit by a Freightliner tow truck.
The Volkswagen was hit by a third time by a Ford Fusion heading south on Highway 101.
The driver of the Volkswagen was severely injured while the driver of the tow truck sustained moderate injuries, and they were both taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The other two drivers were treated at the scene of the accident.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
