2 Killed in Sonora Plane Crash near Columbia Airport, Tuolumne County
Sonora, California (February 5, 2020) – Two people were killed after a small plane crash on Wednesday evening in Sonora, according to the CHP officials.
The deadly crash happened at about 6:00 p.m. February 5, in the Sierra Nevada foothills, near the Columbia Airport, about 70 miles southeast of Sacramento.
The authorities said the small plane crashed in a field behind a home in Tuolumne County.
Two people on board the plane died in the crash.
Nobody on the ground was hurt. The nearby communities were reportedly safe following the crash.
Authorities alerted the National Transportation Safety Board about the incident.
An investigation is underway.
