1 Hospitalized after Manteca Car Accident on West Yosemite Avenue; Santana Martinez Arrested
Manteca, California (February 19, 2020) – One person was injured Tuesday morning in an alleged DUI hit-and-run accident in Manteca, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at about 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, February 18 on West Yosemite Avenue.
According to the police, Santana Martinez, 63, was driving his vehicle on West Yosemite Avenue when he crashed into a 2010 Jeep Compass. Due to the impact, the Jeep rolled over.
The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Martinez reportedly continued driving and ended up hitting a handrail at a nearby store.
Police found Martinez with a head injury and booked him into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of felony hit and run with injuries, felony DUI with injury, felony DUI with blood alcohol content .08% or higher with injury, driving on a license suspended for DUI, and two outstanding warrants for DUI.
The accident remains under investigation.
