Vectrix Motorcycle and Nissan Involved in Fatal Otay Mesa Crash on Interstate 805
Otay Mesa, California (April 16, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on Interstate 805, near State Route 905 in Otay Mesa Wednesday night.
A 66-year-old Chula Vista man died after his Vectrix motorcycle collided with a Nissan on the southbound lanes of the Interstate at about 10:50 p.m. April 15.
The Nissan motorist, a 22- year-old San Diego man, stopped after the wreck and cooperated with the law.
The two right lanes of the freeway were shut down up to approximately 1:45 a.m.
Officials did not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the mishap.The accident remains under an active investigation.
