Rider Dies in Seal Beach Motorcycle Accident on San Diego (405) Freeway near San Gabriel River (605) Freeway
Seal Beach, California (April 27, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident in Seal Beach Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The California Highway Patrol said the fatal crash took place at around 4:07 a.m. Sunday, April 26, in the northbound lanes of San Diego (405) Freeway, just south of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.
As per the report, the motorcyclist was traveling on the San Diego Freeway when, for unknown reasons, the rider slammed into the right shoulder wall. The force of the impact ejected the rider into the freeway lanes and was struck by two vehicles.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
As of 4:27 a.m. A SigAlert was issued closing all northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway. Motorists were diverted off at the Seventh Street exit.
The crash remains under investigation.
