Larry Kirby ID’d as Man Killed in Ventura Pedestrian Accident on Thille Street near Saratoga Avenue
Ventura, California (April 30, 2020) - The man who was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on Tuesday evening in Ventura has been identified as Larry Kirby, 42, of Ventura, police said.
At about 5:47 p.m., on April 28, the authorities responded to the deadly crash on Thille Street and Saratoga Avenue, just north of Thille Neighborhood Park.
Kirby was, for unknown reasons, struck by a car on the roadway. It was not clear which direction Kirby or the vehicle were heading to at the time, according to the officials.
The involved driver stopped to give aid to Kirby before the arrival of the first responders. The driver also called 911.
Kirby was pronounced dead at the hospital while being treated.
Drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the department's motor unit at 805-339-4451.
