Customer Severely Injured in Spring Valley Truck Crash on Jamacha Boulevard
Spring Valley, California (April 7, 2020) – A postal worker was killed and another person seriously hurt after a mail truck crashed into a liquor store in La Presa community, Spring Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision occurred a while after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, in the 9500 block of Jamacha Boulevard.
As per the CHP officials, a postal truck was heading east when it swerved north across traffic lanes and jumped a curb. A Jeep that was parked outside the España Liquor store was then hit by the mail truck. Following the impact, the truck slammed into the store and was stuck into the front of the building near the front counter.
The truck operator, a postal worker described as a 50-year-old man, was pinned inside the car as a result of the crash. The San Miguel Fire & Rescue officials arrived at the scene and extricated the truck driver before rushing him to Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa where he was later declared dead.
The postal worker was reportedly suffering from a medical condition prior to the collision.
A customer of the store was suffered a moderate leg injury due to the collision and was hospitalized at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
Officials did not release the names of the crash victims.
As a result of the collision, the commercial building sustained significant damage.
An investigation is ongoing.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary to clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
