CHP Investigating Fatal Fresno Car and Big Rig Accident on Highway 99
Fresno, California (April 19, 2020) –The Fresno County coroner have released the name of the Merced woman who died after a Honda lost control and slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer on Highway 99, near Herndon Avenue in Fresno on April 16.
The Honda motorist was reportedly cutting through traffic and had moved to the slow lane in an attempt to pass a vehicle prior to the 9:30 a.m. collision.
A Honda passenger, who was identified as 33-year-old Christina Barton, died in the accident.
Meanwhile, the unidentified driver was rushed to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
Detectives did not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the mishap. The accident remains under an active investigation.
