22-Year-Old David Salazar Hurt in Victorville Rollover Crash at Amargosa Road and Roy Rogers Drive

Victorville, California (April 8, 2020) – Authorities have released the name of the man who was injured after a white 2005 Chevrolet Malibu struck his black 2013 Jeep at the intersection of Amargosa Road and Roy Rogers in Victorville at about 10:56 p.m. Tuesday, April 7.

The Malibu driver, 30-year-old Shayna Alexander, was heading south on Amargosa road when she suspectedly ran the red light at Roy Rogers Drive and hit the Jeep that was operated by 22-year-old David Salazar.

Both vehicles partially rolled over upon the impact and knocked a metal traffic-signal light pole down in the process.

The two automobiles acquired major damage, and Alexander was pinned inside her Malibu.

Alexander was extracted from the wreckage by firefighters and then taken to Victor Valley Global Medical for treatment of unspecified injuries. She was then flown to a trauma center for further medication.

Alexander was later determined as a suspect in an argument that had occurred just minutes prior to the collision.

Salazar was able to extricate himself from his vehicle but had complaint of pain to his abdomen area. He was attended to by paramedics and then placed into the back of an ambulance where officials assessed him

Meanwhile, it was not clear whether or not Salazar was taken to the hospital after the wreck.

The accident remains under an active investigation.
