Woman and Child Dies after Monrovia Commuter Train Accident on L Line near California Avenue and Duarte Road
Monrovia, California (April 16, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday morning train accident that left a child and a woman killed in Monrovia.
The deadly accident occurred on L Line near California Avenue and Duarte Road, about 8:45 a.m., on April 15.
The police said an L.A. Metro train was traveling northbound on the L Line when for unknown reasons, it struck the woman and the child, believed to be under two years.
The two victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Following the accident, services at the station were stopped for a while. Passengers on the train were taken via a bus bridge.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Monrovia Police Department at 626-256-8000.
