Woman Severely Injured in Phelan Pedestrian Accident on Sheep Creek Road near Duncan Road
Phelan, California (September 17, 2019) – A woman was severely injured after a pedestrian accident on Monday night in the unincorporated community of Phelan, according to a local news source.
The collision occurred at 7:37 p.m. Monday, on Sheep Creek Road, just south of Duncan Road.
As per the report, a female pedestrian was walking in the roadway when she was hit by a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta for reasons still under investigation.
The impact threw the woman onto the shoulder of the roadway.
Responding firefighters along with medical personnel attended to the woman who suffered severe life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. The woman was rushed to Desert Valley Hospital where she was listed in a critical condition.
The name of the patient was not immediately provided.
The Jetta driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Officials closed Sheep Creek Road to give way to an on-scene investigation.
An investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville Station is underway.
