Sheanna Casillas ID’d as Victim Injured in San Andreas Car Crash on Highway 49
San Andreas, California (September 19, 2019) – The driver who was injured Wednesday morning in an alleged hit-and-run accident in San Andreas has been identified as Sheanna Casillas, 35, of Valley Springs, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 18 on Highway 49, just north of Howell Road.
As per a local news report, Ashonti Thomas, 25, of Yorba Linda, was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram northbound on Highway 49 when he allowed his vehicle to cross over double-yellow lines around a 2016 Acura that was also heading northbound.
Oncoming traffic reportedly drifted to the right at the same time Thomas did. The Dodge then hit the Acura.
Casillas was treated at the scene by responding paramedics. However, at this time, her condition was not immediately disclosed.
The CHP said Thomas stopped briefly after the accident but ultimately continued northbound on the highway. He was later located, arrested and booked under the misdemeanor section for hit-and-run.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
