Whitney Pearl Killed in Richmond Amtrak Train Accident near Brookside Drive and Giant Road
Richmond, California (October 29, 2019) – 30-year-old Whitney Pearl has been identified as one of the three persons killed after an Amtrak train collision early Monday morning in the area of Richmond, according to a local news source.
The deadly collision happened at around 12:08 a.m. Monday, October 28, near Brookside Drive and Giant Road.
As per the report, a northbound Amtrak long-distance train crashed into an SUV with three occupants for unknown reasons. The impact destroyed the SUV completely killing the three occupants.
One of the deceased people has been identified as 30-year-old Whitney Pearl of Richmond.
None of the persons inside the train were hurt in the accident.
Officials said that the northbound No. 14 Coast Starlight was expected to continue to its final destination of Seattle after inspection and an on-scene investigation.
According to an initial investigation, the car was in motion at the time of the accident. Authorities said that both the train’s controls and railroad track signals seemed to be working properly at the time.
