Robert Taylor Dies after in Richmond Train Crash near Brookside Drive and Giant Road
Richmond, California (October 29, 2019) – Authorities have identified 58-year-old Robert Taylor as one of the three persons killed after an Amtrak train accident early Monday morning in the area of Richmond.
The deadly accident happened at around 12:08 a.m. Monday, October 28, near Brookside Drive and Giant Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound Amtrak long-distance train slammed into an SUV with three occupants for reasons yet to be determined. The SUV was completely destroyed following the collision.
The three persons occupying the SUV suffered fatal injuries in the collision. One of the deceased persons has been identified as 58-year-old -year-old Robert Taylor.
None of the persons inside the train were hurt in the accident.
Authorities mentioned that the northbound No. 14 Coast Starlight was expected to continue to its final destination of Seattle after inspection and an on-scene investigation.
An initial investigation revealed that the car was in motion at the time of the crash. Authorities said that both the train’s controls and railroad track signals appeared to be working properly.
No additional information concerning this collision was released.
