Rico Perez Jr. Identified as 1 of 3 Victims Killed in San Bernardino Truck Accident on West 5th Street

San Bernardino County, California (October 26, 2019) – The San Bernardino County Sherrif-Coroner has identified Rico Anaya Perez Jr., 24, of Highland as one of the three people who died early Friday morning in a traffic accident involving a semi-truck in San Bernardino.

The fatal accident took place at around 1:29 a.m. Friday, October 25 in the 1100 block of West 5th Street.

Perez Jr. was driving a blue car westbound on 5th Street when he slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the blue car wedged underneath the back of the semi-truck with at least three occupants.

Perez Jr. and his two passengers were all declared dead at the scene at 1:50 a.m.

Authorities said speed may have played a role in the crash

The  accident remains under investigation by the San Bernardino Police Department.
