1 Pedestrian Killed, Another Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash at Rancho San Antonio in Cupertino; Mireya Orta Arrested
Cupertino, California (October 4, 2019) – Police have arrested the woman who caused a traffic accident that killed one pedestrian and left another hospitalized Tuesday afternoon in the area of Cupertino.
The crash was reported at about 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, October 2 at Rancho San Antonio County Park.
According to the police, two pedestrians were walking in the area when for as of yet to be determined reason, an Audi A5 driven by Orta struck them.
One victim was taken to a hospital and was declared deceased. The other was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released.
Orta fled the scene after the accident. She was later arrested and booked into jail in San Jose on Tuesday night.
