Man Dies Following Fatal Bicycle Accident at Rayen and Woodley Avenue

North Hills, California (October 20, 2019) – According to a report by the police, a bicyclist died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday night in North Hills.

The deadlybicycle accident happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 18 in the area of Rayen and Woodley Avenue.

As per the police report, the bicyclist, only identified as a 56-year-old man, was negotiating a left turn against a red light toward southbound Woodley Avenue from westbound Rayen Street when he was hit by a black Lexus LS430 sedan that was heading southbound on Woodley Avenue.

The bicyclist was then struck by another car described as a black newer model sedan whose driver fled the scene on foot.

The bicyclist was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Lexus driver, a 21-year-old resident of Granada Hills, stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Woodley Avenue was closed while the authorities investigated the crash.

Police are looking for the hit-and-run motorist.
