Man Hurt in Contra Costa Motorcycle Crash on Highway 4 near Port Chicago Highway
Contra Costa, California (October 18, 2019) – A male rider was hurt after a suspected hit-and-run motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon in the area of Contra Costa, according to authorities.
The collision occurred at about 4:59 p.m. Thursday, October 17, on Highway 4, near Port Chicago Highway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a green Toyota truck was seen splitting lanes on the highway before crashing into a man riding a motorcycle on the eastbound side of the freeway. The impact caused the rider to swerve and crash into a gray Honda sedan.
Emergency crews along with paramedics rendered aid to the male motorcyclist injured in the collision. The name of the man and their current condition were not immediately provided.
Authorities said that one party involved in the crash fled the scene after the accident.
Officials are handling this incident as a hit-and-run.
