Charles Vance ID'd as Driver Seriously Injured in Napa Head-On Crash on Monticello Road near Vichy Avenue

Napa, California (October 30, 2019) - Charles Vance, 60, of Napa, has been identified as the driver who was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a traffic accident in Napa, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash took place at around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 29 on Monticello Road, just north of Vichy Avenue.

The CHP said a vehicle driven by Braden Conners, 33, was traveling on Monticello Road when it crossed over solid double yellow lines to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle operated by Charles Vance, 60, of Napa.

Vance was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center with major injuries. Conners was not injured. Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

There were no arrests made in connection with the accident. The CHP said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.

Traffic in both lanes were closed for about 45 minutes. The accident remains under investigation.
