Pedestrian Struck and Killed by CHP Motorcycle Officer on Del Amo Boulevard in Long Beach Identified as Cezanine Mount

Long Beach, California (October 27, 2019) – Authorities have identified the pedestrian who died early Sunday morning after being hit by an on-duty California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer in Long Beach as Cezanine Mount, 24.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened at around 4:40 a.m. on Del Amo Boulevard, just west Cherry Avenue.

According to the authorities, Mount was crossing the street north from a center median when he was struck by the CHP officer heading westbound on Del Amo.

Mount died at the scene. The CHP officer sustained major injuries, including head trauma, and was transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation.
