60-Year-Old Woman Killed in El Cajon Pedestrian Accident on East Chase Avenue near Avocado Avenue

El Cajon, California (November 29, 2019) - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night in El Cajon, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident took place at about 8:04 p.m. Thursday, November 28 at the intersection of East Chase Avenue and Avocado Avenue.

Police said the pedestrian, a 60-year-old woman, was walking across the intersection of East Chase Avenue at Avocado Avenue when she was hit by a 2001 Toyota Tacoma.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and performed CPR on the woman, but she was not responsive. The woman was then taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released pending notification of family.

The driver of the truck stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
