Rider Killed in Riverside Motorcycle Accident on Highway 91 near Adams Street
Riverside, California (November 2, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car in Riverside Friday afternoon, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened at around 5:10 p.m. Friday, November 1 on eastbound Highway 91, just west of Adams Street.
The CHP said a Ford Explorer and a Yamaha motorcycle collided on eastbound Highway 91.
The driver of the Ford told authorities that they were traveling in the No. 1 lane when for an undetermined reason, their car was hit from behind by a Yamaha motorcycle. The rider was thrown off the bike upon the impact.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist facedown with major injuries.
Authorities said the rider died in the crash. It was unknown if the victim was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
According to the CHP, a gray Honda was stopped in the center median after the accident. It was not immediately clear if the vehicle was involved in the accident.
The motorcycle and the Ford were towed from the crash site.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
