Driver Killed in Dixon Crash on Interstate 80 near Currey Road ID’d as Jonathan Rosete
Solano County, California (November 6, 2019) – Jonathan Rosete, 23, of Sacramento, has been identified as the driver who died Tuesday night in a two-car accident in Dixon, according to the Solano County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at around 10:42 p.m. Tuesday, November 5 on eastbound Interstate Highway 80, just east of Currey Road.
The CHP said a 2007 Honda Accord, driven by Rosete, was traveling at above the 65-mph speed limit and was changing lanes from the No. 2 lane to the No. 3 when the Honda collided with a 2013 Ford Escape that was traveling at a slower speed. Due to the impact, the Ford flipped over and came to a stop on its right side on the right shoulder of Interstate 80 eastbound from Currey Road.
The Honda continued eastbound and became lodged in the bushes east of the Ford.
Rosete was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Ford, only identified as a 71-year-old Silveyville woman, was taken to the Kaiser hospital in Vacaville for treatment of minor injuries.
Authorities said alcohol played a role in the crash.
