Man Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident at Coffee Road and Granite Falls Drive ID’d as Durwood Swartz
Bakersfield, California (November 21, 2019) – Durwood Henry Swartz, 85, of Bakersfield, has been identified as the pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday evening in northwest Bakersfield, according to the Kern County coroner's office.
The fatal crash took place at around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 19 at the intersection of Coffee Road and Granite Falls Drive.
According to the authorities, Swartz was walking across Coffee Road near the intersection with Granite Falls Drive when for an unknown reason, he was struck by a vehicle.
Swartz died at the scene.
The driver involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
