Woman Killed, Man Severely Injured in Madera DUI Car Crash at Knox Street and Almond Avenue

Madera, California (December 30, 2019) - A woman was killed and a 21-year-old man seriously injured after a suspected DUI driver crashed into a business facility in Madera County on Saturday night.

The fatal crash occurred at around 8:15 p.m. December 28, in the area of Knox Street and Almond Avenue.

According to the Madera Police Department, Isaiah Moore, 19, was driving a black sedan when he lost control and crashed into a building.

A woman who was in the building at the time suffered major injuries and was rushed to Madera Community Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The Madera Police Department said a male passenger in the car suffered severe injuries and was taken to a hospital in Fresno for treatment.

Moore was arrested and booked into Madera County Jail and will likely face charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
